Trump reschedules Beijing visit to May 14-15 amid war
The US president will travel to Beijing on May 14 and 15, according to a White House statement.
Trump was earlier set to travel to China between March 31 and April 2, before the US-Israel war on Iran derailed those plans.
The initial plans included meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping to discuss trade following an intense tariff war that only de-escalated in late 2025.
China has condemned the US and Israel’s strikes on Iran and called for dialogue between the warring parties.
It’ll be Trump’s first visit to Beijing in his second term as president. His last trip to China was in 2017.
