钇常用于半导体设备涂层、LED、医用激光设备，也是提高航空发动机耐热能力的关键材料。在半导体生产中，设备内部洁净度直接影响良率，三氧化二钇（Y₂O₃）正是保护设备的关键材料。

据Saint-Gobain、AGC等企业介绍，Y₂O₃具备优异的耐化学性与物理稳定性，可通过热喷涂或离子辅助沉积（IAD）工艺形成致密的钇基涂层，有效保护设备部件免受腐蚀。
